Waterbed

Waterbed 03:58
Lyrics: I bind myself for solace, and mind the details to be safe. This time, intoxicated, I let joy take over my brain. So wet, my clothes. So wet, these ropes. So wet, my lungs. Help! Too indistinct. Help! No one near me. This kind of play, I thought it harmless. Just tied feet and hands by myself. Now alarms sounding off. Not free to snooze. Not free to breathe. Panicking in the cold water as it’s taking me under! So wet, my clothes. So wet, these ropes. So wet, my lungs. The waterbed grows, collecting my bones. I’m pulled from each post, thinking, “this wasn’t worth it.” Ah, this wasn’t worth it cuz while I slept, strapped in, my heels cut the membrane, split open. Death sees as the water keeps flooding in. So wet, my clothes. So wet, these ropes. So wet, my lungs. So it’s over!

about

It’s a song about a dude drowning tied to a waterbed (based off that old TV show, 1000 ways to die).

This single was created for consideration in the Gear Gods 200K Subscribers Song-Writing Contest on YouTube. It was written/recorded from April 13th to May 12th, and it was featured in the contest on October 26th on the Gear Gods video entitled "it's just like music, only worse" (one of many in this series of viewing and reacting to the numerous song submissions.

"Alright, that was pretty cool... overall. Original cool sound, unique. Ummm.... not very memorable... except for this part, except for your bridge here, the rest of it was like... good, but I... ummm... I'm struggling to remember any of it. Like, pretty fucking good. Cool... Uh, pretty good, and cool. Alright." -Gear Gods (immediate reaction)
